  • Astanchia (known originally as Stancius Corus β) is a small terrestrial planet located in the Second Rim of the Milky Way Galaxy's Orion Spur. It is approximately 3,350 lightyears from Earth. When incorporated into the United Nations Space Command in late 2583, the arid planet was revealed to contain substantial quantities of Titanium and various other minerals of value. By 2595, Astanchia was the leading exporter of the invaluable metal in the entirety of the Second Rim and contributed greatly to the UNSC Defense Force. A number of massive factories also operate within the planet's few city centers, feeding off of the local mineral caches.
