abstract	Operation Final Offensive was an attack by the Galactic Empire on the last remnants of the Nami pirates, who were backed by the Alliance to Restore the Republic, in 4 ABY. Under Admirals Yzu and Jeratai, an Imperial fleet attacked the remaining pirates in the Outer Rim Territories. The 982nd Imperial Fighter Wing, armed with the new TIE/ad starfighters, decimated the pirates, and the battle was initially going well. However, on the verge of victory, the fleet received a message from Annaj that Emperor Palpatine and Darth Vader were killed at Endor. Admiral Jeratai overheard Blitzer Harrsk's ramblings about becoming a warlord, as he broke off from Captain Gilad Pellaeon's fleet. That, and the fact that Palpatine and Vader were dead, inspired him, and he declared his intentions of doing the same. Admiral Yzu, a loyalist, spoke out against him, ordering to him to remain there. Jeratai responded by ordering fighters to attack Yzu's ships. The loyalist 982nd Imperial Fighter Wing was overwhelmed by the sheer numbers of his fighters. Yzu was killed and his corvettes destroyed. With both the pirates and loyalists routed, Jeratai left the system to his home sector, with the intention of making his own warlord kingdom. What was an operation to end a pirate group became the first battle of the Imperial Civil War.
