rdfs:comment
  • Created by the Secretariat of the Pacific Community and the World Health Organization in 1996, the goal of Pacific Public Health Surveillance Network is to improve public-health surveillance and response in the Pacific Islands in a sustainable way. PIHOA officials said the U.S.-Affiliated Pacific Islands relies on two of the network’s services — PacNet and EpiNet — to provide them with an awareness and updates concerning disease outbreaks or emerging diseases in the region. In addition to updates concerning disease outbreaks and outbreak-response information, district hospitals can also obtain expert technical assistance by linking in to either PacNet or EpiNet.
