After Fred Flintstone is promoted as VP of Slate and Co., he moves into his new office and meets the Dictabird. The DIctabird knows everything that happens in the office and is well aware of Cliff Vandercave's sinister plan to frame Fred for embezzlement and tries to warn him to no success. Cliff eventually tricks Fred into sacking the workers, over the objections of the Dictabird. The bird instructs Fred to read the documents he's signing, but Fred doesn't listen. When Fred is on the lam, Wilma and Betty steal the bird from Cliff and he tells the townsfolk of Cliff's plan, clearing Fred's name. Unfortunately, Cliff finds out and kidnaps Pebbles and Bamm Bamm unless he gets the bird back. kidnaps Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm, demanding the Dictabird in exchange for their safe return. Fred and Barney confront Cliff at the quarry, where Cliff has tied Pebbles and Bamm-Bamm to a huge machine. Though they hand him the Dictabird, Cliff sets the machine off to stall them. As Cliff tries to escape with the bird, the Dictabird bites him on the hand and Cliff drops him. After Cliff is defeated, the dicta bird is put back in the office along with the quarry workers being rehired.
