  • Captain Striker's first encounter with surface-dwelling Mobians occurred when he and a patrol of City Guard made their daily visit to the Eusebes Shrine. When he saw the Knothole Freedom Fighters, he demanded to know who they were and why they were trespassing on sacred ground. (StH: #260) Once the situation was explained to him, Striker asked Coral about the Chao known as Aquarius. When he found out that Aquarius hadn't reincarnated yet, Striker branded Coral a fraud and took her to King Puff and Queen Angelica for questioning, with Sonic the Hedgehog and Amy Rose accompanying them. Sonic and Coral attempted to reason with the king and queen by explaining their situation, but when Striker revealed that Aquarius had yet to emerge from her cocoon, Coral was stripped of her priestess title and had her privileges revoked. Later, when Coral attempted to keep the city's magical shield going, she broke down from stress, preventing the shield from keeping the Dark Gaia monsters outside. The monsters begin attacking Meropis, and Striker blamed Coral for the invasion. (StH: #261) Sonic and Rotor Walrus later found Striker and his men continuing to hold off the attackers, with Striker refusing their request to send aid to the shrine. However, he then witnessed something that made him change his mind: the mighty elemental Chaos coming to Sonic and Rotor's aid as they faced the Dark Guardian leading the attack. Realizing that the outsiders' claims had been correct, Striker immediately sent a force of guardsmen-under the leadership of Echo-to aid the defenders of the shrine as they restored the city's shield. He then appeared at the ceremony in which Coral's status as a priestess was reinstated and the Freedom Fighters were thanked for their efforts. Striker later watched the Chaos Emerald Championship on BreezTV, and lost a bet with Razor regarding who would win the bout between Nack the Weasel and Bean the Dynamite. (StH: #262, #263, #270)
