| abstract | - Jim McLain is a former NASCAR driver from Wilkesboro, NC. He competed in four Nextel Cup Series events in his career. McLain's debut came in 1954, when he competed at LeHi. Starting positions in the field of fifty-two are unknown, but McLain had a respectable race and wound up finishing in 29th. McLain's other three races came in 1955, when he started the year off at the prestigious Daytona Beach Road Course. Starting 25th in the field of forty-eight, McLain had another respectable outing and piloted his way to 22nd. He recorded a career-best 20th in his next start at Columbia despite crashing, and then closed out his career with a 22nd at LeHi.
