Common aspects of loot whores are:
* Rolling against players for loot simply because they enjoy some more frivolous aspect to the loot
* Abruptly quitting groups, even mid-instance, the moment it becomes apparent their desired loot hasn't/won't drop
* Refusing to help groups only because they have bypassed bosses and thus their associated loot
* taking items in raids because the player has sufficient DKP or authority to do so rather than taking the needs of their guild into account Other times, the term is playfully self-deprecating. The structure of a party or the nature of drops sometimes means a player will acquire a large proportion of good loot through sheer luck, especially if they are the only player able to utilize it well (i.e., multiple cloth drops in a 4DK/1priest party) to the point they mass pass loot to someone else in the interest of fairness or as off spec gear.
