At last her temper broke and she begged God to let her find her powers, threatening that she would tear her skin off if she was not a mutant. - Husks are synthetic-organic "zombies" created from the bodies of organic beings. When a human is captured, they are placed on impaling devices, huge spikes that Alliance marines have nicknamed "dragon's teeth". Over time the body's organs, skin, and water content are converted into cybernetic materials; blood is changed to a sickly green fluid, and the body generates an electrical charge. __TOC__
- Josiah did not appear humanoid in his original form and therefore began to evolve into the dominant species at the time, the Victorian Gentleman. This process appeared to take some time. There were two Husks in the lower observatory of Gabriel Chase. One of these looked like a reptile, the other like an insect. Both wore clothing very similar to Josiah's. A third husk was created in the upper observatory after Josiah abandoned his interim state, in the manner of an insect completing his evolution. This husk was exactly the same as Josiah's final appearance, except that it had flaky skin.

abstract | - Husk (Paige Elisabeth Guthrie) is a fictional character from Marvel Comics. Guthrie is a superhero associated with the X-Men. A mutant, Husk has the ability to remove one layer of skin - or "husk" - revealing an epidermis of a different composition beneath. She often changes into metal or stone form, but can shift into a variety of substances. Husk is from a Kentucky coal mining family and is the younger sister of the X-Men's Cannonball. Unlike her brother, Husk is self-conscious of being seen as a "hick" (Jubilee often called her 'hayseed'). As a member of the X-Men's 1990s-era junior team Generation X, she established herself as an overachiever. She later joined the X-Men.
- A husk was a part of a plant. Corn and regreein wheat both had husks. Riker failed to see how the process could be as enjoyable as sex. (TNG: "The Outcast" ) In 2374, Tom Paris compared the consistency of one of Neelix's dishes to that of corn husks. (VOY: "Hunters")

The husks will charge at their enemies and, once close enough, give off a powerful electrical blast which disables shields and causes massive damage. __TOC__

The ones in the lower gallery endeavoured to capture Ace but Nimrod fended them off with a lantern. All the husks and Josiah's interim state just before complete evolution were afraid of light; it was strongly implied this was because Josiah associated light with Light, his master.
