  • The One the Demons Fear
rdfs:comment
  • I heard a voice from behind me say, "Relax. He won't hurt you while I am here." I barely muttered a question past the lump in my throat. "Are you an angel?" He replied with a strange tone, "Not exactly, but I have been called such before." I had no idea what he meant, but his response filled me with dread. I asked him, "What are you planning to do to me?" I also noticed the first creature lying on the ground unconscious, or maybe dead. Then the large creature knelt down and lifted the other onto its shoulders.

I asked him, "What are you planning to do to me?" He didn't reply. I turned back to the other creature, which by now had gotten a bit closer to me. I turned to the other again and saw that he was gone. My life flashed before my eyes; I knew this was the last moment of my life. But just as I could smell the rotting flesh in the beast's breath, I heard a thud. I looked to where it was standing and saw now that a much larger creature had replaced it. It was crouching to avoid hitting its head on the ceiling. It was the same one as earlier. I also noticed the first creature lying on the ground unconscious, or maybe dead. Then the large creature knelt down and lifted the other onto its shoulders. He began to leave, but just before he was gone, he turned back to me and said, "This was once a man like you, the same is also true for myself, so be careful or it might be you I'm hunting next." With another flash of lightning, I could see his face. It was the face of an animal. Terrifying, but at the same time soothing. The next moment he was gone leaving me only with the memory of his face and his last words before he left. I may never meet him again, and for my sake I hope I never do. I don't even know his name, but I do know one thing. He is the one the demons fear.
