| abstract | - The singuarly titled Mortal Kombat is a 2013 American Action Adventure Fantasy film written by Kevin Tancharoen and Oren Uziel, directed by Kevin Tancharoen and produced by Steven Spielberg based off the ever so popular video game series by Midway which began with the 1992 video game Mortal Kombat. The film had spent a gruelling hell of 13 years in production and is distributed by Warner Bros, Threshold Entertainment and New Line Cinema. Unlike the other Mortal Kombat film adaptions the one of Warner Bros, Threshold and New Line distribution is of a very high Hollywood Budget (making it the first Mortal Kombat film to be a Hollywood Feature film) and an ensemble cast of Hollywood A-List Actors filling the roles of the film adaption. The film stars Nicholas Cage, Johnny Depp, Colin Farrell, Jet Li, Trevor Donovan, Anna Torv, Sam Worthington, Chow-Yun Fat, Kelly Overton ,Dwayne "Formerly the Rock" Johnson, Quinton Rampage Jackson, Ian Anthony Dale, Kat Foster, Salma Hayek, Martin Csokas, Rudy Youngblood, Michael Kenneth Williams and Dexter Fletcher.
