After the collapse of the Infinite Empire, the Hutts became a dominent force in the galaxy, manipulating lesser nations through the use of the economy, politics, and treaties. Throughout its long, and varied history, the Huttese Empire generally avoided war, until the beginning of the Hutt-Xim War. Conflict over criminal interests, and competing ambitions in the Si'Klaata Cluster brought the Empire of Xim into conflict with the Huttese Empire, resulting in the Hutt-Xim War. At first the war went badly for the Huttese Empire, but after their usage of cleverly worded treaties to enslave the Klatooinians, Nikto, and Vodran, the war began to turn in their favor. Using their massive slave armies, and supported by the Rodian Monarchy, and the Taung Confederacy, the Huttese Empire eventually managed to bring the Hutt-Xim War to a close. Capitilizing on the gullibility of their new slaves, the Huttese Empire managed to persuade the leaders of the races to sign the Treaty of Vontor, forever enslaving them to Hutt domination, and giving the Huttese Empire control of their territories in the Si'Klaata Cluster. Later the Tionese War began, as the Republic declared war on the Honorable Union of Desevro & Tion. As the Hutts looked on, the agents of Republic Intelligence managed to sow discord between the Hutts, and the Tionese, engulfing Hutt Space in war again, and forcing the Huttese Empire to ally with the Republic. The war was won, but the Huttese Empire had been exhausted from its last two wars, and collapsed due to the infighting between the Hutt clans.
