However, this terminology remains restricted to code at the current time.

The effects of power-ups are normally temporary and will wear off after a certain period of time, though there are exceptions. Recovery items such as food are included in this category. Collectible items derive their use from the number that Kirby collects. Some collectible items are common and insignificant, while others can only be found in limited amounts and are hidden in hard to find areas. An Item is considered non-mailable if these do not apply. Mailable Items have orange borders, while non-mailable Items have grey borders. Items can be acquired in different ways. Some, such as Red LEGO Bricks, are harvestable from Modules. Others, such as Beta Bugs, are given directly to the user when a module is clicked, or like Gypsum, are sent to the mailbox of a random user on the owner's friend list. Others are built from Blueprints or sent by a Networker by MLN Mail. Items have backgrounds depending on certain properties: * If an Item is from the BIONICLE mini-rank, it has a BIONICLE-style black background * It an Item is from The Robot Chronicles mini-rank, it has a light-blue background * If an Item is from the LEGO Universe mini-rank, it has a background similar to that of Robot Chronicles Items * The Arcade Token is special and has a green background * If an Item does not fit into any of these categories and is mailable it has a yellow background * If an Item does not fit into any of the above categories it has a grey background * Any Item with a yellow border is mailable, regardless of which rank/mini-rank it is from * Any Item without a yellow border and with a grey one is non-mailable * Any Item with a red border is from Beta and cannot be traded or mailed. The <item></item> tag is used in the XML to refer to other fundamental MLN objects, such as Modules and Blueprints. However, this terminology remains restricted to code at the current time.

  • An Item is an object that appears in the Kirby series that Kirby can interact with in order to trigger certain effects. There are many types of items that can be found in the Kirby series. When collected or used, Power-ups can grant a boost that makes Kirby more powerful in some way. In most cases, an acquired collectible item will never reappear but instead be entered into a collection. Carry items can be picked up and held above Kirby's head. In Kirby: Planet Robobot, these items can be carried underwater. Mountable items can be ridden upon. When Kirby is carrying or riding an item, he can neither inhale nor fly.

Right clicking will have different, perhaps unexpected results depending on the venue; attempting to equip an item when you are talking to a vendor will sell the item to the vendor. (You can buy it back if you notice it.) A few items have passive abilities and only need to be carried. There is a trend to make some items teach a character how to summon, rather than spawning objects directly, so that the item does not continually consume inventory space. Companions and mounts are no longer spawned from items, now the pet or mount item teaches the character to summon the pet or mount. Container items can contain other items or may represent a conceptual game item that has no representation of its own. Items are divided into several categories, based on their rarity and usefulness: see Quality.

  • ITEM (アイテム Aitemu?) is an Academy City-based organization whose primary function was to monitor the upper echelons of the Academy City, including the Board of Directors and prevent them from gaining too much power and getting out of hand. Its incarnation, as seen on October 9, was virtually destroyed during the events of that day despite only one operative being confirmed to be killed (Frenda Seivelun) and the rest just indisposed or their status unknown, and was later reorganized to form a new organization with the remnants of MEMBER, SCHOOL, and BLOCK. • An item is any of nine tiles which Chip can collect and store in his inventory. The nine items are the four keys, the four boots and computer chips. Items cannot be moved and can only be collected by Chip. The only other things that can erase items are the Non-Existence Glitch at the start of the game, or generally, other moving objects which pass over squares containing items on the lower layer of the grid: monsters erase any item on the lower layer of any square they enter, and Chip and blocks will only erase items on the lower layer if the upper layer contains a non-floor tile which was not removed by the passage of Chip or the block. However, in Lynx, the blue key can be erased by monsters and blocks. There are specific tiles which are not items, although Chip can remove them: sockets, dirt, fake blue walls and locks are not items. Chip can also move blocks, and although blocks can remove water and bombs, they are not considered items either. The only items monsters can pass over are keys, and blocks cannot pass computer chips. Thieves will only steal boots.

However, the game will force the player to use up any of one item before they can spend Coins on that item again.

Some items can't be given to other players or sold to shops, these are usually related to a quest or holiday event. All items can be examined which may reveal extra details about an item not immediately visible from its name or sprite, or provide a basic description. Items which can be equipped are classed as equipment. By clicking on them while they are in the player's inventory, all items can be used with other items, as well as with the scenery, with monsters, or with non-player characters. When in the inventory, some items have a specific action, for example, food provides an "eat" option, and bones provide a "bury" option. When pay-to-play exclusive items appear on a free-to-play world, their name appears as "Member's object" with the examine text "You need to be a member to use this object" and they cannot be used for anything, become non-tradeable, and lose any associated value and action.
