Instead, Aaron had met his future wife, Ruth, fallen in love and married her, and settled down in Glendale himself. Marvin Finch's home was in the hills of Glendale, and so survived the Soviet atomic bombing of downtown Los Angeles on March 2, 1951. His daughter, Olivia, babysat Aaron's son, Leon, on occasion. In May, Marvin and Sarah hosted a small family get-together. As children, the Finches had kept poultry. Aaron Finch had accidentally cut off the last joint of Marvin's right little finger.
