Pruitt's final four races came in 1969, when he finished a career-best 64th in points. Pruitt ran extremely well that year, finishing in the top-twenty in three of his starts. His only low point was a 23rd-place crash at Macon, earning a 19th place finish down at Daytona, and adding on an 11th and 10th place finishes at the tough short tracks at Montgomery and Greenville.
