Some years prior to the onset of the Mandalorian Wars, Vima was promoted to Jedi Master, where she began to take up some of her mother's duties as Grand Master. When Nomi Sunrider died in 3,967 BBY, Vima was offered her mother's position, an office which she refused. Citing the need for the Jedi to be more proactive in fulfilling their sworn duties to uphold civilization, she embarked upon a series of investigations into the looming threat posed by the Mandalorian Neo-Crusaders. During one such mission she came into contact with Revan, who was conducting his own unauthorized inquiries. Impressed with the young Knight's charisma and abilities in the Force, she became one of the first Revanchists. When war broke out shortly afterward, she also became one of his top military leaders, eventually earning the rank of general in the Republic Military.
