| abstract | - The Kinaph was commisioned in the year 2165 under the command of Captain Kulef nd'Orelag, to commemorate the Arkenite's admission into the Federation. In April of that year, she was assigned to Capain Malcolm Reed's task force and rendezvoused with the other ships over Vulcan. From there, the fleet proceeded into Ware territory. Kinaph and the task force remained on the edge of the sector not to provoke a war by a too great show of force, while USS Pioneer went in to investigate. On May 26, Pioneer was attacked by a group of Ware battleships after raiding a Ware trading post. The task force destroyed the Ware reinforcements, while the Kinaph crippled the last ship that was attacking the severely damaged Pioneer. In early June, the fleet capured the Ware hub comlex with little effort, but a few days later it was forced to defend it, when a sizeable Ware fleet attempted to retake it. Kinaph took heavy damage, but stayed in the fight and was ready for the final assault on the Ware command ship, when it was shut down by Lieutenant Commander Travis Mayweather and other kidnap victims from the inside.
