  • Nipwort was a male rat in Badrang the Tyrant's horde who possessed a high, squeaky, voice. He had previously sailed with Cap'n Tramun Clogg. Nipwort and Frogbit were frequently put on guard duty on the walltop of Fort Marshank. Both were convinced by Keyla that the messages passed between the prisoners in the pit and their friends outside were the result of feverish yelling. In fact, Brome and Rose were exchanging coded messages to organize the rescue of Martin the Warrior and his friends.

abstract
  • Nipwort was a male rat in Badrang the Tyrant's horde who possessed a high, squeaky, voice. He had previously sailed with Cap'n Tramun Clogg. Nipwort and Frogbit were frequently put on guard duty on the walltop of Fort Marshank. Both were convinced by Keyla that the messages passed between the prisoners in the pit and their friends outside were the result of feverish yelling. In fact, Brome and Rose were exchanging coded messages to organize the rescue of Martin the Warrior and his friends. Nipwort also had to run after the slaves freed by Felldoh. He was forced to drag the body of Gurrad into the prisoner's pit and get into the slaves' escape tunnel. When he saw the slaves rushing to attack the Fort, he tried to warn Badrang. Later, Nipwort and Frogbit were put in charge of guarding Clogg when he was made a slave by Badrang and forced to dig graves. Nipwort served a few times as Badrang's mouthpiece to the Fur and Freedom Fighters during the Battle of Marshank and was knocked senseless by a slingstone each time. In spite of this, he was still around to assist Badrang during the final attacks on the Fort. Nipwort was presumably killed during the battle.
