  • In the Puget Sound region, the Law Enforcement Information Exchange (LInX) system is being financed by the Naval Criminal Investigative Service (NCIS). The data warehouse-based LInX allows law enforcement agents to access information from a range of databases belonging to law enforcement agencies in Seattle, Kitsap, Snohomish and King counties in Washington, the Washington State Patrol and Washington Jail Booking and Records System, and the NCIS. LInX warehouses a wide variety of information, ranging from street officers’ field interview reports and observations to arrest records. In addition to simple searches, it can analyze these records and provide some link analysis in seconds, allowing law enforcement quickly to recognize patterns of suspicious behavior.
