Plot
  • Greg struggles to get through a newscast after Terry has left him. At home, Francine pledges to help him find a new man. As he visits the Smith home, she tries to pump him for information about his tastes. When he figures out the game, he admits he misses a work partner more than a life partner and when Francine seems to have much in common with him, he invites her to join him on the newscast. right|300px On the news set, Francine sparkles and is soon treated as a celebrity. When the station's old timer dies from a stroke, Greg is struck with shock so Francine covers the news, saving the day. Greg admires her skill but his compliment encourages her to take over more of the newscast, earning the compliments of the producers, but Greg suffers as a result. When she arrives on the day that Memphis Stormfront, the new weatherman, starts, she finds everyone spying to see how the new hotshot does. He takes her shtick and turns it back on her. As Greg gushes about finding his new news banter partner, she demands that Memphis be fired. When Greg tries to break it to her that she went too far, she turns on him and he quits. Francine is angry that Greg quit until she becomes racked with guilt, and sets out to get him back on the news. She goes to the producer but strikes out since he won't come back without Memphis. Stan calls the CIA Weather Control to arrange a storm and for Greg and Memphis to meet, going on the air together and sharing small talk through the carnage. Francine and Stan arrive to take the credit and insist they kiss, although Greg and Memphis share whispers about him being straight. left|300px Meanwhile, Hayley finds her old Dream Phone game and invites Roger to play, he pooh-pooh's the idea until he sees the “Dylan” game character and becomes hooked. Roger begins to monopolize the game, resetting it every time it isn't “Dylan.” To pacify him, Hayley and Steve convince him to go on a road trip to find him. Roger arrives at his home and finds the performer much older, and no longer interested in his old role. Roger snaps, returning to the car with a bloody dream phone and a frightening jar in a bag.
