Following the Yuuzhan Vong invasion, the Triad regained much of what it lost during the conflict. The New Jedi Order, however, planned to stop the Triad and end it. Jedi Knights Kryll Veertag and Tassel Massimo attempted to kill Juntao, but were both killed in the attempt. The Jedi High Council, outraged, dispatched twelve Jedi, led by Master Jaden Korr, and Galactic Alliance Security troops to a storehouse he was believed to be in in Imperial City. A conflict ensued! and after taking significant losses, the Alliance broke in. However, unknown to both the Triad and the Alliance, Juntao was actually aboard his yacht in orbit. The storehouse was loaded with large explosives, which he detonated before he left the system. Most Triad and Alliance forces were killed, with Korr being the only Jedi to survive. The Triad was passed on to one of Juntao's lieutenants, but ineffective leadership and squabbling led to the collapse of the organization mere months later in 31 ABY.
