In exchange for giving Grekins control of the sector, the former Moff served for some time as Grekins's Treasurer-Overseer. When the Clantosh system was taken by the New Republic, Atton again surrendered, but this time he waited until the system was almost completely lost to his side. He soon retired to a civilian life back on his homeworld, and died of old age in 76 ABY.
