Living under the Phraatid Empire, Bahram taught mostly in northern Aldegar and in Tukarali. The Aldegarian word Bīdār means "awakened one" or "the enlightened one". The Bidar taught a Middle Path between sensual excess and the extreme asceticism popular within the Zamāni movement of his time, putting down the basic principles of emerging Daenism.
