Draugluin war einer der Bewacher Berens auf Tol-in-Gaurhoth und stellte sich Huan und Lúthien zum Kampf. Der Kraft des Hundes war er jedoch nicht gewachsen. Seinen Pelz, der von einer besonderen schwarzblauen Farbe war, nahmen sie bei der Befreiung Berens mit. Aus diesem Fell wurde zunächst ein Gewand für Huan angefertigt. Nach dessen Tod ging das Gewand an Beren. In Angband legte Beren den Mantel jedoch ab und er ging für immer verloren. Damit verschwand der letzte Rest Draugluins aus Arda.
