  • Mike Kenny appeared on Coronation Street in June 1987 as a Man at Job Centre when Curly Watts was looking for work. He trained as an English and Drama teacher and then worked for the Theatre in Education Company at the Leeds Playhouse. After a spell as a freelance actor, he started to become a writer of plays, mainly for children and has since gone on to write over one hundred plays, including a dramatisation of The Railway Children which won him an Olivier award.
