  • Turnbuckle is one of the supporting antagonists in the 2002 animated Disney film, Treasure Planet, and he is one of the pirates in John Silver's crew. He is voiced by Rodger Bumpass who also played Ronald Grump and David.
  • Although they did manage to find the lost treasure; which was locked in the central chamber of the artificial planet; their entrance activated a trap mechanism which caused the chamber to shamble and deep trenches to open on the ground. Turnbuckle died along with Blinko when they fell into one of these trenches to their deaths while trying to escape with some of the treasure shortly before the planet's explosion.
  • Turnbuckle is a world of wrestling! They love wrestling so much, and they have regular pay per view bouts starring the galaxy's meanest mofos. Perhaps you will be invited there? Oddly enough, it is also overrun with orphans. Nothing to do with unsafe wrestling. Nope.
  • Back in the time of the Original Team Venture, Turnbuckle was a clueless newbie villain, whom foolishly thought he could challenge Jonas Venture Sr. and the Original Team Venture. Turnbuckle kidnapped young Rusty Venture and used him to provoke a fight. the Action Man handily beat Turnbuckle to a bloody pulp with his pistol, but Turnbuckle couldn't leave well enough alone. The villain cussed out the Action Mad, provoking the Action Man to shoot him in the head.

It was this mismatch in power levels that motivated the Guild of Calamitous Intent's matching villains to heroes of corresponding power levels.
