(PROSE: The Day of the Clown) In 2009, Steve started to shout in class about Luke Smith entering the science competition, demonstrating the effectiveness of Mr Cunningham's discipline. Clyde came to him when Dave Finn and Tony Warner vanished, but Steve said he and his father hated journalists. He told them about the Clown outside Limegreen Station who had handed tickets to Dave Finn and Tony Warner. (TV: The Day of the Clown) Steve Wallace was in the football team of the Park Vale Comprehensive School. After the team lost the Inter-School Challenge Cup in 2009 they started to practice a lot. They wanted to make a better challenge the following year. (PROSE: The Day of the Clown) He was in a detention class and had started to offend Jacob West. When Mr Cunningham tried to calm them, Jacob "stole" their voices. When they were restored, they all ran out of the classroom. (TV: The Mark of the Berserker) Unlike Clyde, Steve left school after his GCSEs and did not go on to Park Vale's sixth-form. He was unable to find a job and this left him slightly bitter. In 2011, Steve ran into Clyde at the park, the first time that they had met in a while, and they had an initially uncomfortable conversation before parting on good times — but after saying Clyde's name he was put under a curse and turned against him. He destroyed Clyde's phone and threatened to do the same to him, and led his friends in chasing Clyde for a while. He ceased hating his friend when the curse was lifted.
