  • Donkey Kong (abbreviated as DK) is a video game character and icon who was introduced in the arcade classic game Donkey Kong in 1981. He was originally created by Shigeru Miyamoto alongside Mario. After his appearance in Donkey Kong, Nintendo created the successor Donkey Kong Jr. and Donkey Kong 3. Following these popular titles, Nintendo dropped the franchise and went with the hero of the series instead. Then in the nineties Nintendo approached Rare and offered them the chance to revive the Donkey Kong franchise, they accepted and the result was Donkey Kong Country for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Donkey Kong is a large, muscular ape with a red tie that sports his initials. The name Donkey Kong is given to two characters in the Nintendo universe, including the one from the arcade games and the one from the Donkey Kong Country series. The Donkey Kong from arcades is supposedly Cranky Kong according to Rare, and Donkey Kong Jr. is Donkey Kong in the new titles. Some sources claim that Rare's Donkey Kong is actually Donkey Kong Jr.'s son. It seems that Donkey Kong Jr. is in fact the current Donkey Kong, as Cranky Kong has referred to Donkey Kong as his son and an employee at Rare has stated that this was indeed the case through their website, and to close your ears when anyone says otherwise.
  • One day, when Mario "Jumpman" Mario and his girlfriend Pauline were walking along, visiting the zoo, they saw an angry ape. Pauline, being the blind Shithead that she is, thought that it was a donkey while Mario, being one of those damn Italians who's a fan of King Kong, thought it was King Kong in the flesh. He thought it was King Kong, thus making him shit his pants, because hethought it was King Kong, right there, in the living fur, standing there, in a cage. He was even super cranky. Pauline suggested that Mario should become a carpenter (they were gettin' broke, after all, because to Mario's first job, cooking, landed him in prison after customers hadHallucinations due to the special "Mushrooms" he put in their food. Donkey Kong would only let a real home for him be, uh, carpented by Mario if he got paid, with bananas of course. The problem was that Mario earned Money, the exact opposite of the Banana, and the worldwide currency is NOT the banana (yet). Mario also didn't have any bananas, instead deciding to spend his money on more mushrooms. DK became furious, getting bent on destroying all money and raping every female he comes in contact with, finally landing on Pauline (literally). He, learning from his father, a 22-foot gorilla, then decided to climb atop a building, only this time, it was not even finished. Just plain badass. Mario had to climb the 100m tower to stop DK and get the girl, all while DK was throwing barrels of unknown substance at him. Mario finally destroyed all those construction workers' hard work and collapsed the building-in-progress. Donkey Kong fell a long way, until he crashed directly on his head, causing majorbrain injuries and massive damage. After weeks in the hospital, the unconscious ape finally woke up. He had learned that one of the bitches he had screwed, adumb blonde, had given birth to a gorilla, complete with a shirt that says "J", through the news. He was outraged, and he blasted outta that dump, only to find hisbaby at a construction site, and through a funny series of fuckups trying to climb it, he finally rescued him. However, Mario, still mad as fuck that DK had raped his girl, captured him, stuffing him in an authentic cage that was actually a prop used in King Kong, and through a funny case of "Like father, like son", Donkey Kong Jr. rescued his old man from the old man. Mario was not injured that much, because he always hits shit with his head. Mario later went on to star in a bunch ofshitty children's games and form the most successful spin-off franchise in history. There was also the time some Nerd named Stanley kept spraying shit into DK's ass so he could get his head trapped in a bee hive or some shit. Donkey Kong does not like to talk about it. Since then, everyone has called Donkey Kong "Cranky Kong" and Donkey Kong Jr. just Donkey Kong, which is the DK that we'll be talking about.

  • Donkey Kong (or DK or just Donkey for short or full title Donkey Kong III) is the main protagonist of the Donkey Kong series. He is the carefree, lazy, dumb, yet trustworthy hero of Donkey Kong Island. He is also in the Mario Kart Series. Though known as Donkey Kong, he is actually a descendant of the original Donkey Kong, and successor after he later retired after his numerous defeats at hands of Mario. The games originally described DK as Cranky's grandson. 64 changed this to being his son, and then it has switched back and forth, making their specific relationship uncertain until Donkey Kong Country Returns when Cranky Kong is Donkey Kong's grandfather. The character Donkey Kong first appeared in the game of the same name, where he acted as the main antagonist; however, sometime after his defeat, he retired (as mentioned above) and eventually let his age get to him and took on the name Cranky Kong. The current Donkey Kong, designed by Rare, is a carefree simian who spends his days collecting Bananas and spending time with his friends and family, particularly his nephew and best friend, Diddy Kong. Donkey Kong is very protective of his island and his Banana Hoard, and because of this, he is always ready to protect them from those who would attempt to steal or do harm to either. The original Donkey Kong's character design was created by Shigeru Miyamoto for the Donkey Kong arcade game. As seen in the Mario Vs Donkey Kong Series, Donkey Kong always seems to be after Pauline as he has an unrequested crush on her. He is currently voiced by Takashi Nagasako in most of the games as of 2004.
