On board the USS Enterprise-D, the planetary geosciences division laboratory was located in Room 0513, on Deck 10. In 2365, this lab was the headquarters of a planetary mineral survey led by Acting Ensign Wesley Crusher. He was tasked with solving the mystery of the geological instability of the Selcundi Drema sector planets. (TNG: "Pen Pals" ) Lt. Commander Brad Yacobian and Lieutenants Michael Stradling and Alan Sims served on board the USS Voyager in the planetary geosciences division. (VOY: "Parturition") If the planetary geosciences division mirrors the branch of science on Earth known as Earth science, members of this division may specialize in the physics, geology, geography, meteorology, mathematics, chemistry, and biology of planets.
