While Anderson was working at AT&T, Smith was working on his debut movie Clerks. Anderson's first audition was for the role of Jay, but when the role wasn't felt to be appropriate, Smith offered Anderson a lead role as video store employee Randal Graves; a seemingly foul-mouthed apathetic slacker, who along with his morally elevated best friend Dante Hicks (Brian O'Halloran) belittled, aggravated, and alienated their customers whilst avoiding any real work at all opportunities.

  • Jeff Anderson is a British comics artist who drew several covers for the Marvel UK weekly title Action Force as well as one for the crossover with Transformers, "Ancient Relics!".
  • Jeff Anderson was an artist on the Marvel UK Transformers comic, beginning with issue #65. He is from Hartlepool, in the North-East of England and has a wife and five children. After Transformers, he worked as an inker on other Marvel UK titles, including Death's Head, Knights of Pendragon and Mys-tech Wars. In the 90s, he released two graphic novels for Lion Hudson, 'The Shadow's Edge' and 'The Cutting Edge', later working on a graphic novel adaptation of the Bible. Winning a prize at the Angouleme Festival. His work on that title led him to change his profession, in July 2007 he became ordained. He has now returned to full time illustration work.
