  • Activating it requires the player to be inside the Dwarven Mine, and when activated the player teleports into the Blackhole, where Thordur resides. To leave, simply activate the disk again. Attempting to drop it will result in a confirmation message "Yes, something cool might happen." However when dropped it will simply say "That was disappointing.", indicating nothing will happen when dropped. Occasionally when dropped the chatbox messages states "Something cool happens." and the player performs the dance emote. These are references towards the original date on which they were created, where players could visit the blackhole and use their disk of returning to go out, other players would tell players that "something interesting would happen" and they couldn't get out of the blackhole resul
  • The Disk of Returning is a discontinued item that was used in conjunction with the Black Hole, where banned players were sent. It could be bought from Thordur for 5gp. The disk allowed players to visit the black hole safely. However, the black hole and the disk were subsequently removed when the banned players would use a scam by telling the victim that something cool would happen if they were to drop their disk. The banned player would then pick up the disk and teleport out leaving the victim stuck in the Black Hole.
  • People that were banned were put into a hole and trapped there until their ban was over. A lot of people got themselves banned just to see the hole, so Jagex made a mock hole and created a disk to let players out once they went in. To get out of the Black Hole, players would select the spin option on the Disk.

abstract
  • Activating it requires the player to be inside the Dwarven Mine, and when activated the player teleports into the Blackhole, where Thordur resides. To leave, simply activate the disk again. Attempting to drop it will result in a confirmation message "Yes, something cool might happen." However when dropped it will simply say "That was disappointing.", indicating nothing will happen when dropped. Occasionally when dropped the chatbox messages states "Something cool happens." and the player performs the dance emote. These are references towards the original date on which they were created, where players could visit the blackhole and use their disk of returning to go out, other players would tell players that "something interesting would happen" and they couldn't get out of the blackhole resulting in many players getting trapped. Note: you can still get out of the main blackhole where Thordur resides even if you do not have the Disk of returning in your inventory.
After constant abuse, the black hole was removed, yet the disk of returning was not. Now, it is a highly prized item just like any holiday item with a street price of over 150M coins.
  • People that were banned were put into a hole and trapped there until their ban was over. A lot of people got themselves banned just to see the hole, so Jagex made a mock hole and created a disk to let players out once they went in. To get out of the Black Hole, players would select the spin option on the Disk. The mock black hole was removed and the disk of returning became discontinued because of a scam that involved convincing players to drop their disk while in the black hole, which trapped them until they were assisted by Jagex. The remaining disks were left in the game, but no longer had any use.
