Ford portraying the life of a Klingon Captain Krenn and his interactions with the Federation, particularly with Ambassador Dr. Emanuel Tagore. The novel also speculates on some of the events surrounding the Dissolution Babel crisis. abstract
  • The Final Reflection is a 23rd century historical novel by J.M. Ford portraying the life of a Klingon Captain Krenn and his interactions with the Federation, particularly with Ambassador Dr. Emanuel Tagore. The novel also speculates on some of the events surrounding the Dissolution Babel crisis. Extreme classification of all official records of those events prevented the author from presenting his information in a more acceptable journalistic form. (TOS novel: The Final Reflection) The Final Reflection was one of Worf's favorite novels. He and his wife Jadzia Dax once reenacted it in one of Deep Space 9's holosuites. (DS9 short story: "The Devil You Know") The Final Reflection was one of several Klingons works found loaded onto a PADD belonging to the Ferengi trader Sekki. (ST novel: A Singular Destiny) The publication date is open to some debate. The preface indicates a date of approximately 2283, but the situation depicted in the framing story of the real novel The Final Reflection does not fit known situations of that year. The Pocket Books Timeline places the framing story (some months after the publication of the in-universe novel) in 2270.
