Desirability
  • They are very rare, but share a weapon class with the more common scurgari. Since boomerangs are never destroyed upon use, a boomerang with the suffix "of slaying", should one be found, is an extremely valuable item. However, they are still made of wood, so they will be in danger of copious amounts of item destruction. Note: in ADOM 1.2.0 p23 boomerangs CAN be destroyed upon use .

  • Boomerang (stylized as BOOMERANG and formerly marketed as BOOMERANG from Cartoon Network) is an American digital and satellite television channel owned and distributed by Time Warner through Turner Broadcasting. The channel airs the 2014 French TV series Peanuts in the United States.

  • Boomerangz are very effective, long-range offensive weapons, doing its damage via remote control! Throwing on a diagonal, it can reach only five Tilez away, but the arc of the throw is such that it hitz something six Tilez away on its way out, and on its way back to the thrower! One throw of a Boomerang can severely reduce the health of almost two dozen Gruntz. One problem with it, is it doesn't distinguish between friend and foe; throw at an enemy over there -> and a friendly Grunt in the way getz hit first, and on its return arc to the thrower, a friendly Grunt over here <- can also get hit by it. There is one major drawback to having a Boomerang and throwing it at an enemy; the thrower has to be standing in exactly the same place when the Boomerang comes back, or it is lost forever. You can move away from an attack, but you have to make it right back to the spot from which you threw it, in order to catch it again. I have hit as many as five enemy Gruntz with a single throw, but believe it is possible to hit as many as twenty-seven if the thrower is on the edge of a circular arrangement of enemy (Post Guard) Gruntz. In my Tool Strength testing CL I hit twenty-two of twenty-nine Gruntz I had defined four timez out of four throwz, and another five once out of the same four throwz, but my arrangement could have been better designed. So a Boomerang can reduce enemy health by 132 to 147 pointz in a single throw!
  • The Boomerang (ブーメラン Būmeran?) is a recurring item in the Legend of Zelda series. It is typically used to stun enemies, retrieve items, and trigger switches. Some weak enemies can be defeated using the Boomerang, and in some games, the Boomerang is capable of cutting down objects. Oftentimes, the Boomerang has the ability to be upgraded to the Magical Boomerang later in the game.
  • When thrown, it will travel in a circular path clockwise from the direction thrown, hitting anything in its path: in most versions it will alternate with ( as it flies to show spinning. If it makes its way back to you there is a (dexterity in 20) chance of catching the boomerang; otherwise it hits you. A boomerang that is cursed or thrown while fumbling will always hit you. Boomerangs will not return if their path is blocked by a wall, or if they move over a sink. The exact path of the thrown boomerang is shown below in order 1-9 for each direction. Despite some redeeming features the unusual throwing mechanics make this a rarely used weapon. Fire NW Fire N. • The boomerang is a weapon utilized in minor capacities within the TMNT universe. Most prominently, it is a secondary weapon for the Ninja Turtles in the 1989 video game. In this game, the boomerang's stock would not deplete so long as the player caught the weapon on its return. Switching Turtles before catching the boomerang would allow the "new" Turtle to add that boomerang to his stock. Another example of a boomerang being wielded in TMNT media, are Foot Soldiers in the video games. These Foot Soldiers are normally yellow. Walkabout's action figure also comes with a boomerang.

Hundreds of tennis players from all around the world descend on the club for two weeks of competition and social activities. Most international players stay at the homes of members. It’s a big commitment of time and money (two weeks and over a thousand dollars), but all who enter find it to be a memorable and entertaining experience. There are events on most nights (including five ‘official’ events, and many BBQs and dinners organized by members), and during the day there is catering and a coffee cart.

  • Boomerang was introduced on December 1, 1992 (two months after the original introduction of Cartoon Network) as a block on Cartoon Network for classic cartoons going all the way back to the start of the 20th century. Before early 2000, it didn't have a proper logo. Thus, like Nick at Nite, Boomerang's logo was constantly different, along with a different theme for the block. Sometime before the rise of the channel of the same name, it started using the following logo, especially during the pre-launch animation of the channel. Sometime before the rise of Boomerang as a full-featured channel, the Cartoon Network block of the same name adopted a "Boomerang" wordmark, in which the B actually resembles a boomerang and sometimes has a trail of stars. It was additionally seen during the animation loop before it launched as a channel. It finally was introduced as a full-featured channel for classic cartoon programming on April 1, 2000, in the United States. The block of the same name was still active on Cartoon Network until late 2004, when it finally became only a sister channel of Cartoon Network. This would then become the remaining instance (the other being the 1999 Cartoon Network Productions logo) to still feature the original Cartoon Network logo until the early 2015 redesign. As of 2015, this is now being used as a secondary logo. This logo is still used on Adult Swim's daily sign-off sequence, which airs at 5:59 a.m. ET each day. Primal Screen, who did Cartoon Network's 1997-2004 Powerhouse bumpers, was responsible for creating this logo and its identity.

  • Boomerang was originally a programming block on Cartoon Network started in December 1992. It was aimed towards the generation of baby boomers, and was similar to the Vault Disney block on the Disney Channel. It originally aired for four hours every weekend, but the block's start time jumped frequently. The Saturday block moved to Saturday afternoons, then back to the early morning, and the Sunday block moved to Sunday evenings. Eventually, Boomerang was shortened by an hour, making the total airing time 3 hours each weekend instead of the original four hours. In 2000, Boomerang received both a new look and the cable spin-off channel that launched on April 1, 2000. By then, the block followed a unique programming format—every week, cartoons produced during a certain year (and cartoons produced during years prior to that year) would be showcased. For example, if Boomerang was showcasing the year 1969, the viewer would more than likely see an episode of Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! or Dastardly and Muttley in Their Flying Machines. Once the Boomerang channel was launched in 2000, promos for the channel aired at the end of every broadcast show during the block in attempt to gain popularity for Boomerang. Also, all of the older programming on Cartoon Network, including Looney Tunes and shows from Hanna-Barbera migrated to Boomerang. On October 2 and October 3, 2004 nearly four months after the re-launch of Cartoon Network, the Boomerang block was replaced by Adult Swim everyday with older reruns of classic anthologies like The Popeye Show, Tom and Jerry, The Bob Clampett Show, ToonHeads, former Boomerang fare like The Gary Coleman Show, Super Globetrotters. October 2 and 3rd were the last times Looney Tunes officially aired on Cartoon Network. Duck Dodgers, Cow & Chicken, The Jetsons, The Flintstones, What a Cartoon, Snorks, The Smurfs and Baby Looney Tunes are now featured on the channel. The channel initially carried a weekly looping programming format. Notably, Boomerang does not carry product commercials, with the only exception being advertisements for DVD products by Warner Home Video, co-owner of most of Boomerang's programs. The only other advertising on the channel is for Boomerang or Cartoon Network programming. These commercials would happen between shows, while bumpers would go right back to the show after they're played. As of October 2010, commercials are played regularly during shows. During its looping format, which lasted through December 26, 2004, program days began at 8 a.m. Eastern time (5 a.m. Pacific time). The looping format had 8 hours of programming repeated three times a day. Monday through Thursdays had been just normal programming days, with a variety of half-hour and hour-long cartoon programs shown. On Fridays, "monthly feature" cartoons were shown for the entire day; one cartoon was featured for each Friday of a given month for 24 hours straight. As of January 1, 2005, this banner became known as "monthly character of the month", and is now shown on weekends from 2 to 4 p.m. eastern and as of March 2007 it's known as Boomeroyalty. On Saturdays, a calendar year was featured with the cartoons of that year (ranging from approximately 1960 to 1996, one year per week in sequence). Late nights carry the "Boomeraction" theme, with animation featuring action and adventure such as Valley of the Dinosaurs, SuperFriends, Space Ghost, Jonny Quest, The Herculoids, Thundarr the Barbarian, and Battle of the Planets. Boomerang's promotional slogan, Boomerang: It's All Coming Back To You, used until late 2005 on Boomerang itself, was one of nostalgia that accurately reflected its programming of the time. However, this slogan is still used on promos airing on sister channel Cartoon Network. Boomerang got a new slogan in 2006 that airs during its programming breaks. The slogan is Boomerang: We'll Be Right Back A'tcha!. The announcer for most promos for the channel is John O'Hurley. In September 2008, Cartoon Network began to run more commercials for Boomerang, including two that were seen on January 1, 2009. Recently, between intermission, Boomerang would air a bumper, then two ads; one would be a Dish or DirecTV ad, depending on the provider, and the other ad would be a commercial. Then, it would air a classic short and a Wedgie. Boomerang generally does not show live action shows with the exception of Banana Splits and Hole in the Wall being aired every day.
  • [Source] A boomerang was an object that was popular on many backwaters of the galaxy. A handcrafted weapon favored by hunters and trappers on Auratera, it required some skill to throw correctly. When used properly, the boomerang would strike a target or spin around mid-air and return to the user. Once retrieved, a boomerang could be reused indefinitely until lost or damaged. Boomerangs were symbolically similar in appearance to a J-type diplomatic barge.

  • Nicknamed 'Cannibal,' and 'Executioner' by his fellow demons, Boomerang is an outcast, preferring to stick to himself. His only companion is the Guardian of Desire, Luceid, who feeds off of his desire to fight. Mother chooses him to be the fourth Quarter Knight after Berserk's death, against the wishes of Zeikfried. His constant companion Luceid is the physical manifestation of the unquenchable desire Boomerang feels to fight. It is hinted by Berserk that Boomerang had a hand in the destruction of the Demons in the first Demon war. He feels the need to test his abilities and power on three different occasions to the trio. The first of these times he uses Luceid to trick the trio at the Epitaph of the Sea Wind, and then reveals himself to be with the Demons. Cecilia is shocked that a guardian would side with evil, until Boomerang reveals that Luceid is neither good or bad, but sides with the team that would allow her to retain a physical form. Being the Guardian Lord of Desire, she can retain her physical form being around Boomerang, who is endlessly searching for battle to quench his desires. Challenging the trio, both Boomerang and Luceid fail, and hands over the Rune Drive to them. Boomerang is seen again in the Dead Sanctuary, blocking the trio from reaching the Goddess, Lion, and Dragon idols (being the trapped incarnations of the Guardian Lords of Love, Courage, and Hope). He is defeated again but is satisfied that he was able to test his limits against the trio once more. He is not seen again until Ka Dingel rises from the depths. Playing little part in the overall storyline, Boomerang merely is used to delay the trio. Following a third defeat at the hands of the trio, Boomerang laments on his unquenchable lust for battle. Following this, Zeikfried (being possessed by Mother) tells Boomerang that they're finished with him and summons Demons to kill him and the trio. Boomerang and Luceid let them go, commenting on how they are taking a trip to hell together. If you enter and exit Ka Dingel following this, his Saber Fang will lie there, and the descriptions reads "I'll be back..." If you beat the Ancient Arena once, and have the Saber Fang, Boomerang and Luceid will battle you a fourth time, except they will have merged into Boomerang Flash. Luceid has become the Guardian Blade of Desire, and is used by Flash to attack. Following this defeat, he accepts death and feels content knowing he has experienced his ultimate desire of battle throughout his long life.
