The battle was a decisive victory for the Empire; few casualties were taken, while most of the Sith task force was destroyed. Because of the losses suffered by the Sith at Tsushima, what remained of the Armada was only used to guard the primary Sith planets, and thus the Sith Ground Forces were unable to commence their intended operations, putting the Empire on the offensive. The victory was used by the Empire in various propagandist ways, and the Imperial HoloNet talked about it for days. Though the Sith already had little chance of winning the war, Tsushima still marked the turning point in the war for Empire. It also showed off the skills of the INSO, and the commanders present were awarded decorations. The Sith intended to exploit the resources of Tsushima, which was lightly garrisoned and was just beyond the Sith border. It was Imperial Navy Admiral Shoji Yamamoto who described it the best, "it was a piece of gold dangling on a chain in front of the Siths' faces." The Sith intended to take the Empire by surprise, but in reality, the Imperials already knew that the Sith would target the planet for months, thanks to common sense and the Imperial Navy Intelligence, and had a large INSO fleet placed their to wait for the Sith to pounce. The result was spectacular.
