| abstract | - Mayakashi (魔夜歌詞, Song Lyrics of the Night Demon) is a unique Genjutsu utilized solely by Kawazu, due to having been its inventor. The Genjutsu is reported to be very potent in its use, and is known to be a sound-based technique, which makes it almost impossible to avoid in a general circumstance; combined with his other illusory skills, the technique works to effortlessly defeat most unsuspecting opponents. Mayakashi is a Genjutsu that is activated when an individual hears the sounds created by Kawazu's unique Frog Cap (an inbuilt function of the said cap). These sounds are, in fact, a materialization of his own chakra into sound-waves, which can then travel into the brain in order to activate the pre-requisite steps for a Genjutsu activation. Once this simple step has been complete, it is virtually impossible to escape from the grasp of the Genjutsu unless one is skilled enough to break out of it, or reverse the technique. When the technique has been inflicted, there are numerous manners in which Kawazu can inflict potent psychological damage on his opponent. The first is a combination of his illusions and haze clones, to create a unique mirage as a means to disorient the enemy. Otherwise, as a battle progresses, he can choose to utilize potent visual-based illusions which cause his enemies to - according to him - live in a completely different world. He can modify the environment at will, and effortlessly kill an opponent while he's doing so. Although, in order for this illusion to have a complete and sustained effect on the opponent, the sounds must constantly travel from the cap. If an opponent can limit the amount of sound they hear, then they would be able to weaken the overall Genjutsu and break out of it.
