| abstract | - Rahm Kota was a Jedi Master who served the Jedi Order during the finals days of the Old Republic. As a general during the Clone Wars, Kota was a military genius, but did not trust the clone soliders that the Jedi fought with. Relying on his own militia, Kota's life was sparred when Order 66 was issued, in which clones gunned down their Jedi generals. Kota then took his militia with him into hiding. Several years later, Kota and his men attempted an attack on a TIE Fighter Factory above the planet Nar Shaddaa. Kota had hoped to lure Darth Vader, the Sith responsible for killing so many Jedi, out of hiding. The general was surprised to learn that instead, Vader sent his secret assassin, Galen Marek, nicknamed Starkiller, to kill both Kota's men and the Imperials protecting the station. The two dueled, which resulted in Kota being blinded by Starkiller. The young Sith stole the General's lightsaber, to prove to his master that Kota was dead. Kota, however, survived his tragedy above Nar Shaddaa. Enlisting the help of Senator Bail Prestor Organa, a trusted friend of the Jedi Order]], Kota was smuggled to Bespin. Starkiller had been given orders by Vader to form a team of Rebels to destroy Emperor Palpatine. Starkiller began his quest by searching for Kota, from Nar Shaddaa to Ziost, the young Sith found Kota drunk and blind at a bar on Cloud City. Having given up on the Jedi Order and with no memory of his attacker, Kota still agreed to help Starkiller. After enlisting Senator Organa and others to start the Alliance, Kota and the senators were captured by Darth Vader, and were brought aboard the Death Star to die. Marek, having been betrayed by Vader for the last time, save Kota and the Rebel leaders, but was heavily wounded in the battle by the Emperor himself. Believing Marek was dead, the Alliance was born in his memory. Kota, now a general, led the Rebel Alliance to attack several Imperial targets. On an attack run on Cato Neimoidia, Kota went missing in action. Captured by the planet's ruthless Imperial leader, Merillion Tarko, Kota was forced to fight in the Baron's arena for entertainment. What Tarko didn't count on was that Marek, who was believed to be dead, would arrive to Cato Neimoidia and rescue Kota from Imperial captivity. After being rescued by Marek, who was thought have to be a clone created by Darth Vader, the two then regrouped with the Rebellion and planned an attack on Kamino. Marek was more interested in rescuing his love interest, Captain Juno Eclipse, who had been kidnapped by the bounty hunter Boba Fett. Fett had been hired by Vader to lure Marek back to Kamino. While Kota led the Rebels into battle, Marek fought and defeated Vader, who had killed Eclipse. Kota had caught up with Marek, who was about to strike down the Dark Lord out of anger. Kota wanted to take Vader prisoner, so that the Alliance could learn of the Empire's secrets. Marek, however, finally realized that Vader had tricked him into thinking that the young Jedi was a clone of his former self. Vader was struck down by Marek, who had turned back to the Dark Side of the Force. Kota attempted to duel the reborn Sith, only to be killed by him and thrown with several other Rebels into the vast oceans. Marek went on to destroy the Alliance, kill Palpatine, and take over the galaxy.
