Thiessen is credited for several stories in the series, including Pinkie Pride, Princess Spike, Party Pooped, and Do Princesses Dream of Magic Sheep? Little, Brown and Company's official My Little Pony Friendship is Magic guidebook The Elements of Harmony contains an introduction from Thiessen. His wife Jocelan is a storyboard artist for the series. For his work on the series, Thiessen was nominated for "Best Direction in an Animation Program or Series" for Party of One at the 2012 Leo Awards. Thiessen's professional credits include being assistant director and co-director for Disney's Pucca, for which he was also nominated for a Leo Award in 2006; a storyboard artist for Cartoon Network's Ed, Edd n Eddy; a graphics designer and supervising animator for Aaagh!
