Atlus was owned by Index Corporation, which filed for bankruptcy in June 2013 after suffering heavy debts. On September 2013, Sega has acquired Index Corporation, and as a result owns Atlus and all video game IPs under the developer. Atlus has since been registered as a company on April 1, 2014 under Sega. The corporate mascot is Jack Frost, designed by illustrator Kazuma Kaneko, from Shin Megami Tensei.
