  • thumb|right|Yoshitaka Amano Yoshitaka Amano (天野 喜孝 Amano Yoshitaka; * 28.
  • Yoshitaka Amano(天野 喜孝 (formerly 天野 嘉孝)Amano Yoshitaka) (born July 28, 1952) is a Japanese artist. He began his career as an animator and has become known for his illustrations for Vampire Hunter D and for his character designs, image illustrations and title logo designs for the Final Fantasy video game series developed by Square Enix (formerly Square). His influences include Western comic books, art nouveau, and Japanese woodblock prints. He has won awards for his work, including the 1999 Bram Stoker Award for his collaboration with Neil Gaiman, Sandman: The Dream Hunters. In early 2010, he established Studio Deva Loka, a film production company.
  • Yoshitaka Amano has been interested in drawing since he was young. He started his carrier in Tatsunoko Production in the animation department, working for the Speed Racer anime franchise. He later worked on several anime titles such as Tekkaman, Gatchaman, and many other. In contrast to the stereotype of pointy, sharp lines and modern-styled drawings that used by many designers, Amano uses smooth and flowing lines, with a more epic, unique style of drawing that resembles a painting. That dinstictive style of Amano has given the Final Fantasy series a unique flavor.
Do kolorowania swoich druków wykorzystuje on zwykle farby akrylowe, dzięki czemu uzyskuje efekt podobny do akwareli.

  • Yoshitaka Amano (Japanese: 天野 喜孝 Yoshitaka Amano Amano Yoshitaka), born March 26, 1952, is the artist of Fantasy Life. He is also a Japanese artist, character designer, illustrator and a theatre and film scenic designer and costume designer. He first came into prominence in the late 1960s working on the anime adaptation of Speed Racer. Amano later became the creator of iconic and influential characters such as Gatchaman, Tekkaman: The Space Knight, Hutch the Honeybee and Casshan. In 1982 he went independent and became a freelance artist, finding success as an illustrator for numerous authors, and worked on many best selling novels such as The Guin Saga and Vampire Hunter D. He is also known for his commissioned illustrations for the popular video-game franchise Final Fantasy.
  • His uniqueness in his designs are such that he does not design images directly for animation or comics. Amano's art revolves around the medium of printmaking. Printmaking involves processes such as carving wood and/or scoring copper plates, running ink, and transferring ink to paper. Aside from woodcut and copper plate prints, Amano also uses the method of lithography. He typically uses acrylics to color his prints, using an effect resembling watercolor, and many of his works are influenced by ukiyo-e aesthetics.
  • Japanese fantasy artist influenced by Manga, psychedelic and pop art, art nouveau and ukiyo-e. He's mainly worked in animation, illustrations, and video game conceptual designs. His works include: * He's been involved in every single game of the main Final Fantasy series to some degree. * Title logos for each title in the main series. Up to the sixth entry, he was the series' character designer. He has since handed that duty to Tetsuya Nomura and has produced promotional artwork for each entry thereafter. * He also did Final Fantasy IX's character designs, as FFIX was meant as a throwback to the first six games in the series. Ironically, however, FFIX is the only installment of the main franchise whose central logo was designed by someone else than Amano. * Angel's Egg *

Do kolorowania swoich druków wykorzystuje on zwykle farby akrylowe, dzięki czemu uzyskuje efekt podobny do akwareli. Ostatnio tworzył ilustracje do książek The Sandman: The Dream Hunters Neila Gaimana, Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer Grega Rucki, Shinjuku Christophera "minka" Morrisona oraz swojej własnej serii zatytułowanej Hero. Czasami wracał do anime, tworząc prace do takich seriali, jak surrealistyczny Angel's Egg, a także dzieł eksperymentalnych, jak na przykład Fantascope: Tylostoma i bardziej konwencjonalnego NY Salad: Vegetable Fairies. Poza Final Fantasy Amano projektował postacie do serii gier Front Mission oraz Kartia. Wystąpił także w filmie New Rose Hotel jako Hiroshi.

Which, along with D, make him one of the roots for White-Haired Pretty Boy. * Character designs for most of Tatsunoko Production's landmark early anime, including Science Ninja Team Gatchaman (which makes him more or less the godfather of the Five-Man Band), Speed Racer, and several of the Time Bokan series, including Yatterman (which makes him more or less the godfather of the Terrible Trio). * He also designed the original Tekkaman... so he is the godfather of SPACE LANCE! * The covers of Japanese neo-classical metal band Galneryus's first three albums, The Flag of Punishment, Advance to the Fall and Beyond the End of Despair. * Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer. No, really. * Tanaka Yoshiki's novel series The Heroic Legend of Arislan (or, in Japanese, Arslan Senki). He did the covers, additional illustrations plus drama CD illustrations. Most of his work on Arslan was published in the artbook Tenma no yume - The Heroic Legend of Arslan which features additional poetry by Tanaka Yoshiki.
  • Yoshitaka Amano has been interested in drawing since he was young. He started his carrier in Tatsunoko Production in the animation department, working for the Speed Racer anime franchise. He later worked on several anime titles such as Tekkaman, Gatchaman, and many other. He joined Square Enix at 1987 as a character designer for Final Fantasy game. The game, which previously thought as the last game for the company, turned out to be a huge success and raised Square's popularity in Japan's gaming industry. After that, Amano continued to design characters for the series until Final Fantasy VII, where his role as the main character designer was taken by Tetsuya Nomura and several other younger designers such as Akihiko Yoshida. Nevertheless, Amano is still working for the series, mainly as promotional and character artwork designer, though he reclaimed his role as the main designer in Final Fantasy IX.

Aside from woodcut and copper plate prints, Amano also uses the method of lithography. He typically uses acrylics to color his prints, using an effect resembling watercolor, and many of his works are influenced by ukiyo-e aesthetics. His prints contrast to many modern Japanese designers in that his prints are made with smoother, flowing lines, especially when drawing hair, a characteristic that defies the stereotype of pointy, spiky hair used by other designers, which is also one of the reasons for the critique of the newer designers for Square Enix. To this day Amano has drawn and designed most of the main characters and prominent points in the iconic games of the series. Before beginning his career as a fantasy illustrator, having grown up reading Western super hero comics, Amano worked for Tatsunoko Production as a character designer for several of their early super hero anime, including Science Ninja Team Gatchaman, Tekkaman the Space Knight, and Neo-Human Casshern. Beginning in the '80s, he left the anime industry to illustrate novels, including several Japanese versions of Western heroic fantasy series, as well as early volumes of Guin Saga and the ongoing Vampire Hunter D series, which he still illustrates. More recently, he has illustrated Neil Gaiman's The Sandman: The Dream Hunters, Greg Rucka's Elektra and Wolverine: The Redeemer, mink's Shinjuku, and his own Hero series. He has occasionally returned to working on anime, such as the surreal Angel's Egg, as well as experimental works such as Fantascope: Tylostoma, and the more mainstream NY Salad: Vegetable Fairies. In addition to the Final Fantasy series, he has also worked as character designer for the Front Mission game series, and "Kartia". He has also appeared as the character Hiroshi in the live action movie New Rose Hotel.

He is a 5 time winner of the Seiun Award, and also won the 1999 Bram Stoker Award for his collaboration with Neil Gaiman, Sandman: The Dream Hunters. L'arte di Amano ruota attorno all'intagliatura.
