Synopsis
  • Lois Lane investigates a story involving a foreign ambassador named Count Armand de Foix. She learns that the Count is courting a silver screen actress named Lois La Flamme, and decides to impersonate La Flamme in order to get close to the ambassador. Superman meanwhile discovers Lois' ruse and decides to intervene as Clark Kent. Without letting on that he is aware of Lois' disguise, he professes his undying love to Lois La Flamme. Count Armand de Foix overhears Clark issuing a proposal of marriage to his alleged mistress. Lois rejects Clark's offer but announces that she is in fact in love with Superman. Count Armand refuses to brook any competition and challenges Superman to a duel. The count's bullets bounce harmlessly off of the Man of Steel's chest, and appear to ricochet, striking him in the chest. Lois suddenly removes her disguise exposing her undercover identity to Superman. Superman confesses that he was aware of the ruse and staged the faux duel with the count as a means of getting back at her.
  • A man named Dick Morgan is a restaurant owner who suddenly falls ill. Lois Lane volunteers to help out by preparing meals at his diner, until such time that Morgan can adequately recover. Superman discovers Lois' latest venture, and decides to play a prank on her. He visits the diner and secretly uses his heat vision to ruin Lois' meals. Despite the fallback however, the diner becomes extremely popular, as patrons begin filing inside, anxious for a chance to dine at the place where Superman eats.
  • A scientist named Professor Jason experiments with some chemicals, which create extremely noxious fumes. Lois Lane finds herself exposed to these chemicals and begins to transform into a hideous-looking old woman. She comes to believe that she is in fact a witch. Superman learns that the effects of Professor Jason’s experiments are only temporary and decides to humor Lois by secretly mimicking supernatural abilities. Lois begins to believe that she is a genuine witch, until such time as the effects wear off. Superman confronts her and admits to simulating Lois' perceived powers. Although frustrated by the Man of Steel, she is grateful to have resumed her normal form once again.
