The explosion of the Black Asteroid has caused an electromagnetic pulse that simultaneously wipes out every one of Robotnik's computer systems on Mobius. Unfortunately, Super Sonic is now also free and Sonic has returned home just in time to aid the Freedom Fighters. Fortunately, he has drained all his energy and runs off powerless. On the Floating Island, Robotnik's Biological Computer has failed and the Guardian Robots are no longer slaves to Doctor Zachary's will, but the echidna still has his own gun. The fight between Zachary and Knuckles rages until Sonic appears from the Omni-Viewer. Knuckles shows he can handle the elderly villain and Porker Lewis helps the Emerald Hill folk capture Robotnik. In the Metropolis Zone, Sonic is preparing to lock Robotnik away until Grimer comes to his rescue on a steam engine. The heroes are forced to deal with the threat whilst the bad guys retreat to Citadel Robotnik. Sonic eventually tracks them down and overloads the main generator before it can bring systems back online. The surge destroys Robotnik's base, leading the dictator with nothing.
