According to one of Melinda's special dispatches, there is a secret of some kind: Dear Chip, In some ways this will be the most important level for you. So, cypher, Chip, cypher! Secretly, Melinda. This is not in the actual game, rather in the CHIPS.HLP file, so finding this takes some attention. However, the title Cypher and some letters spelled out by floor tiles may clue the player into the secret:

At first he's thrilled by the prospect of creating a whole new life for himself as a "secret agent" but soon finds that the realities of the industry are somewhat less interesting - recording presentations about shaving cream distribution and consumer trends in the processed cheese market.

- Cypher (played by Joe Pantoliano) is a character in The Matrix. He is referred to as "Mr. Reagan" by Agent Smith. In the first film of the trilogy, Cypher is one of the rebels from Morpheus' hovercraft, the Nebuchadnezzar. Cypher has grown tired of the Man/Machine war within the Matrix. Harshly disillusioned by the grim existence living on a hovercraft and tired of following Morpheus and his blind faith of the Prophecy, he soon starts to wish that he never learned the truth and left the Matrix in the first place. This prompts him to strike a deal with the Agents. At the beginning of the movie, he nearly has Trinity killed by Agent Smith in successfully proving to the Agents that he, "the informant", was legitimate.

Najczęściej oglądając te lepsze i gorsze czegoś brakuje - a to obsada niezbyt pasuje, tam muzyka kompletnie nieodpowiednia, tu kiczowate scenografie. Kiedy obejrzymy film do końca możemy wytknąć mu zbyt naciąganą intrygę, ale z drugiej strony całkiem skutecznie przykuwa widza do opowiadanej historii. Poznajemy kulisy korporacyjnych gierek, codzienność pracownika firmy i zwykłe życie w świecie niedalekiej przyszłości. Polecam!

Cypher secretly meets with Agent Smith once more, agreeing to turn Morpheus over to them if the Agents will return Cypher's body, rich and famous, to the Matrix power plant with no knowledge of the Matrix's true nature. How he is able to contact the Agents is not clear. Cypher helps the Agents mount an ambush at their safe location, where Mouse is killed, and then murders Apoc, Switch, and Dozer, and wounds Tank. Before he can kill Neo or Trinity, Tank recovers and kills Cypher. One of Cypher's most famous quotes from the movie is "Ignorance is bliss", which he utters while speaking with Agent Smith, referring to the state of people inside the Matrix.

In each case, Cypher vanishes from the scene as abruptly as he arrived. Worlds burn in his wake, yet he leaves no clues as to where he will turn up next. Besides havoc and ruin, there is another trail that Cypher leaves behind; legend and rumour abound after the passage of the mysterious robed figure. The intrigue over his rapid departure is further magnified by the inevitable wave of ensuing questions. Sometimes these interrogations will be conducted by Inquisitors or their agents, while at others Chaos Space Marines seek more knowledge about the cryptic figure that weaves in and out of their strongholds, never revealing his true name or purpose. Regardless of whether other factions arrive to ask questions, the Dark Angels always turn up along the trail. Grim-faced and taciturn as to their own purpose, they query any who were in contact or might have spoken with Cypher. Those who have some knowledge, or are even suspected of having some, are taken away by a black-armoured Interrogator-Chaplain. Few return. As to who or what Cypher truly is –- none can say. Those who have witnessed him in action report that he wears simple ceremonial robes, much like the many of the Dark Angels. Beneath his garment can be seen the thick plates of dark power armour. More damning still, however, is the fact that no matter where in the galaxy Cypher surfaces, it is only a matter of time before the Dark Angels or one of their successor Chapters follow. The Dark Angels ask many questions, but give no answers themselves. Despite the constant search for Cypher, none have yet been successful in capturing or destroying him. Or so it would seem. The Dark Angels have considered Cypher destroyed on numerous occasions – yet he always returns. The Red Corsairs, still seething after what they believe was their betrayal during the Escovan Campaign, thought they had cornered the elusive Cypher on the Strike Cruiser Rapier. In the deep emptiness of space, they halted the Rapier, yet when they boarded they found only Chaos Cultists. Before they were all slain, none of the Cultists could verify the whereabouts of the mysterious Space Marine who had been in their midst, nor could they tell of how he escaped.

He has also gained notoriety with the playerbase for mistletoe, cookiees, stale halloween candy, MUSHy Awards, two recent april fools pranks and hurlings of snowballs, confetti and rotten tomatoes. This is his description: Cypher is a curious little jawa. Still only about a meter tall, and wearing a dingy brown robe and hood, the similarity to regular jawas ends there. The glowing lights in his hood that mark his eyes are magnified by thick-rimmed eyeglasses. Wild shocks of white hair peek out from under the hood. And his robe has a pocket with pens and a calculator in it. He carries around a rather large metallic wrench covered with colorful blinking lights, digital readouts, and extendable attachments. He can often be heard cackling to himself maniacally while he works.
- Cypher was a mind-controlling member of the League of Assassins.
- Envoy Larionov and Judge Pax visited Mega-City One for a clandestine meeting with Chief Judge Hershey to discuss the situation regarding repatriation of citizens of East-Meg Two descent. Having cornered the sniper in a mall, Pax and Dredd discovered that the sniper is a cyborg. The cyborg had been made untraceable, with no records of fingerprints, facial recognition, DNA or retinal scans. All equipment had been tailor-made, also untraceable. Psi-Judge Echolette confirmed that the mind of the sniper had been wiped. The Mega-City Judges and Pax brought in Larionov, seemingly to allow him to witness the psi-scan, though in reality the sniper had already been scanned, and Echolette was instead scanning him, to confirm Pax's suspicion that he had hired the sniper to assassinate Hershey. Pax recommended that Larionov be sent back to East-Meg Two and requested that she defect, an action that Dredd endorsed, impressed by her actions in the pursuit.
- When Kitty Pryde moved to New York she attended Stevie Hunter's dance lessons. It was considered a good influence that she should meet & befriend other kids her age. One of those friends was Douglas Ramsey. It just so happened that Doug also happened to be a computer genius, on a par with Kitty's own intellect. So when she wasn't caught up in the X-Men's fights, Kitty began to hang out with Doug. Neither of them realised that Doug's natural gift for computers was due to his mutant ability to understand and communicate in any language. On one occasion they were using the computers at Doug's house to hack into something Top Secret. Kitty used Doug's natural ability to hack into the government computers at Project: Wideawake and activated a Sentinel. Doug innocently joked that he didn't want to know what she'd done. Kitty's interference had forced Henry Peter Gyrich & Sebastian Shaw to destroy the activated Sentinel, thereby wasting millions of dollars worth of investment. Unaware of the chaos he'd help to cause, Doug treated Kitty to snacks and soda in the kitchen, but Professor Xavier sent an angry telepathic message to her reminding Kitty of her training sessions. Doug said a hurried goodbye to Kitty as she ran out the door, but he was unaware of the real reason that she was in a rush. He was also unaware of how much Kitty had grown attached to him. Yet he was aware of how much he liked her. When he was offered a scholarship to attend the prestigious Massachusetts Academy, Doug ran to visit Kitty. While the X-Men & New Mutants were enjoying Christmas-like festivities inside, Doug tapped on the frosted window and Kitty ran to meet him by the back door. He was so excited when he told her his good news, so he couldn't understand it when she appeared alarmed. Kitty insisted that she attend the open day along with Doug, since she didn't want to reveal that she knew the Head Mistress of the Massachusetts Academy was Emma Frost, the White Queen of the Hellfire Club & mortal enemy of the X-Men, as that would also mean revealing her own secret dual life. While neither Doug nor Kitty knew was that he was a mutant, both professor Xavier & the White Queen had detected his presence. Professor Xavier wasn't concerned about the need to train him (like with more dangerous powers), yet the White Queen had also discovered that Doug was a mutant, and saw him as an opportunity to lure Kitty Pryde into her school. By the time Kitty & Doug went to visit the Massachusetts Academy, the Beyonder had kidnapped all of the Earth's heroes, including the X-Men. Seemingly with no-one to come to their aid, the White Queen kidnapped both the teenagers. Using her telepathic powers to block Kitty's ability to phase, the White Queen tied Kitty to a chair and demanded that she leave Xavier's to become her pupil. While taunting Kitty, the White Queen revealed what she had done to Doug. He was kept in a telepathic induced fantasy; Doug believed he was romantically dancing with Kitty. He had remained free to wander around the campus, while the White Queen had twisted his feelings for Kitty to keep him placated. Back in New York, Magik had used her spells to send her Astral Form find her missing best friend, Kitty. Upon discovering that Kitty was held captive, she convinced the New Mutants to travel to Massachusetts and help her free Kitty & Doug. Although Doug was exposed to some of the fighting between Cannonball and Jetstream of the Hellions, the White Queen continued to use her telepathy to wipe his memory. So by the time the New Mutants had successfully rescued Kitty, Doug was unaware of what was happening and extremely confused.

- Tele-Viper troops are the radio and satellite communications specialists of the Cobra legions. The micro-miniaturized equipment built into their helmets and web gear includes a high-speed burst microwave transceiver, VHF and laser signal units, a random series digital encryption module, third generation passive jamming devices, a GPS receiver, a voice synthesizer and an FM receiver with automatic frequency control. All high-end Cobra command personnel have a Tele-Viper trooper assigned to them as their personal link to headquarters and as bodyguards. Each Tele-Viper trooper carries a multi-shot grenade launcher and a suppressed sub-machine gun as well as his communications equipment, which means that even while he is calling down an air strike he can be laying down his own cover fire. It is suspected that off-duty Tele-Viper troopers are employed by Cobra as telemarketers to sell pirated technology. Tele-Viper 911 was hired directly by Baroness to be her personal Communications Specialist, but has since been transfered to a more regular duty. She still remains loyal to Baroness, rather than Cobra, but she does her job, not letting her loyalty come to the forefront. She know works in the Cyber-Communications subsection of the Cobra Communications department, and rarely leaves Cobra Island, but she is fully trained for Combat Communications as well.

- Cypher is the 34th level in Chip's Challenge 1. However, the title Cypher and some letters spelled out by floor tiles may clue the player into the secret: The floor spaces spell LLIO, HPPX and JHEN, which are the passwords to Socialist Action, Goldkey, and Cake Walk, respectively. However, things are a bit difficult because there is no adjacent level to use clock setting or set odd and even step to. The use of Ignore Passwords would be encouraged. Cypher itself is very easy, which may be an additional hint that something is more than meets the eye. Just follow the path and watch the lower area: it's tougher to find the chips before having moved in the wrong direction. Perfection all the way out means that at the end of the level, there is enough room to sneak past the bug on the left side safely.

- Cypher is a 2002 sci-fi thriller starring Jeremy Northam and Lucy Liu, directed by Vincenzo Natali of Cube and Splice fame. The story follows Morgan Sullivan, a bored and henpecked house-husband who gets a job as a corporate spy in order to add some excitement into his dull routine and annoy his overbearing wife. At first he's thrilled by the prospect of creating a whole new life for himself as a "secret agent" but soon finds that the realities of the industry are somewhat less interesting - recording presentations about shaving cream distribution and consumer trends in the processed cheese market. However, after he runs into a beguiling and flirtatious woman at a hotel bar, things take a dive off the deep end. Beautifully shot with Natali's trademark visual flair, this was a smart low-budget neo-noir with a storyline very heavily influenced by PKD. Not to be confused with Cypher Language.
