  • Jambalaya was a Creole dish. Several members of the Sisko family were skilled at cooking it. Andreas Nikolas was fond of Joseph Sisko's jambalaya when he visited Sisko's Creole Kitchen in 2333. (STA novel: Maker) Joseph Sisko believed his daughter Judith Sisko did not add enough cayenne pepper when she cooked jambalaya. Judith believed he added too much. (DS9 episode: "Homefront", DS9 novel: Lesser Evil) In 2373, when Kasidy Yates returned to Deep Space 9, she and Jake Sisko cooked jambalaya for themselves and Benjamin Sisko. (DS9 episode: "Rapture")
  • "Jambalaya", sometimes called "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)", was a country and pop hit for Hank Williams, who is also credited as the sole author. Some baby seals and penguins, billed as "The Endangered Species Chorus Line", sing the song for the opening number in episode 501 of The Muppet Show. Catgut, one of the star animals from the 1972 special The Muppet Musicians of Bremen, makes a cameo appearance in this number, fishing through a hole in the ice. Catgut catches a crocodile, who drags her under.
  • Jambalaya is located in North Lulukoko and is open 8:00-17:00 and is closed during typhoons, blizzards, and festivals. The shop sells tools and seedlings and it also makes bait.
  • One of Creole cookery's hallmarks, jambalaya is a versatile dish that combines cooked rice with a variety of ingredients including tomatoes, onion, green peppers and almost any kind of meat, poultry or shellfish. The dish varies widely from cook to cook. It's thought that the name derives from the French jambon, meaning ham, the main ingredient in many of the first jambalayas. A spicy rice dish, made with several types of meat, seafood, and vegetables, and usually served with tasso.
  • Jambalaya is a purple octopus like imaginary friend with three eyes and blue lips. She has small creatures in place of hair. These hair-placing creatures are dark purple with black hats with blue flowers on them. They don't usually speak but they can show emotion, as revealed in "Who Let The Dogs In", when one of the imaginary puppies licked Jambalaya's tentacle, not only she shrieked, but her hair-placing creatures can be seen shrieking as well, but due to the screen moving too soon, two of them are not seen. They can also be seen sleeping in "The Trouble With Scribbles".
(Jambalaya) A Foodon appearing in the Bistro Recipe games and making a brief cameo in the anime as a member of the Foodon Banditos. Despite bearing a remarkable resemblance to Fried Ricer, Jambalaya has a very different recipe as it is based off Jambalaya.
(DS9: "Rapture") Benjamin claimed in 2374 that his father made a "fierce" jambalaya. (DS9: "Favor the Bold") Jake was able to deduce that the Romulans had agreed to attack the Chin'toka system in late 2374 as his father had not overcooked the rice. (DS9: "Tears of the Prophets")
