They are essentially letting it do what its supposed to do, instead of manipulating it to their whims. This makes it a very great technique, as White Lightning's usage usually means very extreme voltages, that result in death, vaporization or much pain. Allowing for its extreme power to blast through strong defenses, and even insulators (even without the Aspect of Charge in effect), to attack the man harboring a soul behind the defense. Allowing for the extreme voltage to hit, and allowing for other effects, such as enabling the body under their electric command, or alter the body's nervous system, similar to Tsunade, with knowledge over bio-electricity and its systems. This can also paralyze the soul's connection to the body, paralyzing the opponent's "willpower", leaving them unable to move, similar to another technique. White Lightning is not Black Lightning though, and cannot pierce through everything physical, chakra based or not. It can pierce through most things physical, but it is not absolute, as this is only due to the technique's sheer power. But by applying Chakra Absorption, similar to Kisame's application in his own Water Techniques, it can be used to break through all chakra-based defenses, even the mighty Susanoo, and Rashōmon Gates.
