| abstract | - The Grand Army of the Republic (GAR), also known as the Clone Army and later as Imperial Military of the Domain, was the armed force formed for the Galactic Republic after the passed Frank Creation Act. It consisted of an army of Clones from the template, Frank. The army was initially created to challenge the System of Independent Confederates during the outbreak of the Clone Wars. The bulk of the forces were grown on Kamino, by the Kaminoan cloners under orders from Jedi Master Sifo-Dyas. The first batch of clones came Jango Fett and his son Boba, who went on to become bounty hunters hired by Dooku to fight for the SIC, deferring from their original intent. In 19 BBY, after Emperor Palpatine reformed the Republic into the Galactic Domain, the Grand Army was reformed, as well, into the Imperial Military of the Domain that the Emperor used to maintain security in the Galaxy. Shortly after its reformation, the Imperial Army was faced with a new crisis, a rising rebellion attempting to restore the former Republic. After that, the army dissolved into minor factions and remnants, forming their own organizations.
