  • [[Category:]] Levitate was a transmutation spell or supernatural ability that allowed the caster to move a creature or object vertically as desired. Some races native to Faerûn, such as the air genasi, had the innate ability to levitate. During the religious ceremony of the Dance of the Swirling Winds, the elven goddess Aerdrie Faenya would sometimes grant her worshipers who could not fly the power to levitate. Levitation played a key role in the drow game khaless.
  • Levitate requires 7 MP to initially cast in the second, third, and fourth games. In Quest for Glory V, Levitate's cost is increased to 10 MP. Levitate is unique among most spells in that it continually drains MP while in use.

  • Mankind always dreamed of flying like the birds. While Levitate can't accomplish this feat, it at least allows the caster to hover several feet above the ground, at least as long as he or she doesn't attempt to move, which at once cancels this spell, making a hard fall.

Text
  • With this invocation, the caster gathers a mass of air beneath him and raises his person above the ground. It is a means of both escape and access to elevated stations. I learned of the theft of this spell from, a scroll of mine when Grimwar levitated to pluck for himself the finest Fruit from our plum tree. As punishment for the theft, he alone gathered the firewood that summer.

Notes
  • Warning note: In some places you can levitate up or down after cuting grass but if the grass grows back again you won't be able to levitate over it, and you will end up trapped. Try the spell on flat walls or in front of doorway openings. The caster must be facing the cliff, wall or entrance for this spell to work. The caster cannot move up or down more than one level at a time. If this spell is cast and the character is not in the correct square to levitate, then no mana is lost.
  • thumb|The red squares shows where to stand when levitating up beside entrances. Very useful spell. Instead of using a stack of Parcels, you can use this spell to climb onto ledges or houses. Only premium account players can learn this spell. Advantages of this spell include no need to carry parcels and a greater ability to go up in certain places! In an archway, you need to stand on 3 parcels and have something blocking you from walking underneath the archway instead of on top of it. Levitate does not have this issue.

  • Flight (舞空術, Bukujutsu; Literally meaning "Sky Dance Technique") is one of the most commonly used techniques in the Dragon Ball series. This is first seen in Dragon Ball during the first appearance of Puar, and first named during the 22nd World Martial Arts Tournament, when Tien Shinhan and Chiaotzu are seen flying. Very soon all the other Z Fighters (apart from Yajirobe) use the technique. In the original Japanese dub of episode 3 of Dragon Ball Z, "The World's Strongest Team", when Goku asks if Piccolo can keep up with the Flying Nimbus, the Namekian replies that his own flying technique is significantly different and better than the flight technique used by the Z Fighters, allowing him to fly faster than the Nimbus. Gohan is able to teach Goten and Videl how to fly during the Great Saiyaman Saga. Gohan further explains that anyone with sufficient power and the proper training can learn the ability. Mr. Satan tries to self-teach this technique but fails miserably. The way Gohan describes the secret to Flight, one would assume that the flyer is putting their ki underneath them, and riding it in a manner similar to the Flying Nimbus. However, whether this is actually how it works, or if it was a result of Gohan not knowing a better way to describe it, is unexplained.
