| Synopsis | - The Asgardians have prepared the funeral pyres for their war dead, which Thor lights with his lightning. The sons of Odin then proceed into Loki's temple, where Thor spoke his stepbrother's obituary; he died well, but lived poorly.
Meanwhile, in Mephisto's Hell, his demon subjects are enraged that their lord would barter away a part of their land. Just before they could mobilize to banish the trespassers from Hell, the Dísir, the forsaken Valkyrie of Bor, emerge from the earth and slaughter the demons. The Dísir leader Brün hungers for Asgardian souls but they cannot enter Hela's Hel to do so. However, they can get around this technicality simply by perception. Therefore, she goes to Mephisto to ask for permission to invade Hel, promising that she'd be either a slave or goddess to him. Despite the agreement he made with Hela not to touch her domain, Mephisto says that he has no respect for her territory and allowing the Dísir to invade would not break the agreement.
And so, the Dísir invade Valhalla. Hela, grabbing the Eir-Gram, the bane of the Dísir, ventures from her fortress to meet with them. Unfortunately, she is ambushed and the sword taken from her. To protect the dead, Hela is forced to transform into a fortress.
Back in Asgard, Commander Hákon approaches Balder to ask if another would take his place as King of Asgard. However, both Thor and Tyr, both sons of Odin, refuse to take the throne. Then suddenly, Heimdall spots a flaming skeleton emerging from the pyres. The Asgardians presume it to be a hostile, until Hela starts speaking through it. She quickly explains about the Dísir and pleads for help to protect the dead. Though Tyr is willing to believe her, having had visions during the siege, Hákon isn't so obliged, thinking that this is a trick. When he states that the Dísir do not exist, they apparently heard him and he is suddenly dismembered into pieces before everyone's eyes. His blood then forms into that of Brün, who warns Asgard not to interfere in their affairs, otherwise they will join their dead. There is silence, before Thor says, "To hell."
