The Period of Establishment (11/4/08 - Now): This era is defined for: Themes: - The Founding of DOOM. - The joining of the first 30 member states. - The creation of foreign policy and alliance embassies. - The formation of The Higher Order. - Alliance between the DKD and UCU. - The introduction of the AID Scheme. Events: - The Naming Crisis: 18 April 2008 - The alliance formally changes its name to the Darknights of Doom from DOOM (DKD). Verbal conflict with another alliance over the name Doom, results in a crisis of either facing the possibility of war or renaming the alliance. - Protectorate Draft: 20 April 2008 - A defining moment for the DKD. Under the draft's terms the DKD and the UCN enter an alliance under which the DKD is offered sovereignty and protection. This is a great step forward in consolidating the alliance's foundation and power: "In order to promote the sovereignty, growth, and general prosperity of the Dark Knights of DOOM (DKD), the United Commonwealth of Nations (UCN) and DKD hereby enter into this Treaty. The signatory alliances hereby bound in a Treaty of Protection." (A quote from the draft). - The Treaty of Protection: 21 April 2008 - The treaty is finalized and passed.
