rdfs:comment
  • The 1st Policeman was in the first of two patrol cars contacted by Central Control to intercept the vehicle from the Searle and Ormerod Coach Company which was carrying the residents of the Street on their outing to the Lake District. The itinery from the coach company stated that the circular route was the M6 to Kendal, Shap, Eamont Bridge, Ullswater, Patterdale, Troutbeck and Windermere but Ray Langton had forced a vote on the coach for it to turn off the A6 at Levens Bridge and head straight for Windermere. Not knowing this the police were looking in the wrong place. After waiting several hours the officers were told to return to patrol.
