  • HBC Network is a fictional Television broadcast channel on South Park. The first mention was during the episode "Cartman's Mom is a Dirty Slut" with the HBC Movie of the Week, "Terrance and Phillip in Not Without My Anus", which became a full episode at the beginning the second season. The next time HBC was featured was in "It Hits the Fan". The network aired the curse word "Shit" on the show "Cop Drama". This became so successful that the channel finds other uses for the word and puts it in all of the programming. A controversy among the townsfolk erupts with so many people using the word, that it has lost it's ability to shock which rekindled an ancient curse. This curse caused people who use the word to throw up their intestines and die. The Knights of Standards and Practices are awakened in order to stop HBC from using the word shit, as repeated use will awake a dragon named Geldon. However, they fail to convince the network, resulting in Geldon being awakened and the knights having to slay the dragon live during HBC's Night of a Thousand Shits. In "The New Terrance and Phillip Movie Trailer", the boys are trying to watch HBC for the new Terrance and Phillip movie trailer to come on. They have to sit through Russel Crowe's show Fighting Around the World. They keep getting interrupted and have to move from house to house trying not to miss the commercial. HBC was in the episode, "South Park is Gay!", where a show called Queer Eye for the Straight Guy was broadcast on the network. It caused all of the men and boys to adopt the "metrosexual" fashion and feminine mannerisms. Although the women did not mind at first it soon became a burden for them. The real homosexuals of South Park; Herbert Garrison and Mr. Slave travel to New York City where the show is broadcast to kill the hosts of the show for selling out their culture. What they discover is they are not people, they are Crab People. In "Best Friends Forever", HBC news ran news beat on the fate of Kenny McCormick's life or death debate, for persons in a persistent vegetative state. "Today on Today" is a morning news program seen in the episode, "The Tale of Scrotie McBoogerballs", where they interview the author of the book of the same name. The book was written by The Boys but Butters takes the credit for it so they would not be in trouble for writing it. The book becomes a hit after being published in 26 languages.
