abstract
  • The Galactic Guide Publishing Corporation was founded well over one thousand years ago by many well-meaning individuals who took too many lunch breaks for too long, and eventually bankrupted the company. In those days it was known as Galactic Incorporated Publishers, but the name was lost in a legal battle with an older organization. After several debt resettlements with individuals even less savory than Sith, the company emerged as a pornographic publishing house, based on Sullust for tax reasons, but nominally headquarted in the old GIP building on Coruscant. Known then as Blue Net Publishing, the company was forced to shut down for violating rules related to the distribution of materials depicting trans-species fornication. Despite the profitability of pornography, GGPC sought more legal means of monetary gain. They brought back their flagship title, the Galactic Guide; and hired several new writers to travel the Galaxy at large, running up bar tabs and running from Imperial censors and secret-brokers. One of these traveling writers, Garrett G. Granth the IV saved the corporate headquarters from an Imperial bombing run (or so he claims), singlehandedly rewrote most of the volume, and has taken a very large shareholder claim in the corporation.
